One can argue that our actions and the objects with which we surround us, contains the essence of local traditions. When these meet different ways of thinking, to what is familiar to us, it is challenged by the unknown. This meeting, that can be a source of conflict. A local, established identity can be enriched, find a new form and be further developed by taking into itself what was previously foreign and unknown. “Replanted Identity” aims to explore the merging of what we might call “the local norm” with what is “different” to create a new, unique expression. Ideal Lab’ invites norwegian and french artisans and designers to co-create in Florø, Norway or France this fall / winter. The result of the collaborations will be exhibited in a touring exhibition in 2015.
