The vision of Transplant was initialised in 2003, when the designers Birgitta Ralston and Alexandre Bau decided to establish a transversal creative platform dedicated to design in Dale. They discovered Norway and the small village through an artist residency period at NKD. Ralston & Bau built the project and found the fundings the first three years. Then they designed the interior architecture, furnitures and managed the building process with Attila Eris as main architect. The construction principle use local knowledge of house building in wood together with innovative materials. After four years of a challenging work process, Ralston & Bau headquarter opened it’s doors in June 2007.
