Building

Transplant is a design center located on the West coast of Norway. Designed by Attila Eris, architect at the Renzo Piano Workshop, the 600 m2 architecture has four interconnected wings. Like an open book facing the water, it’s external walls suggest sheaves of white paper, tempting inspiration, whose edges separate the building’s various functions. In the Transplant building multiple knowledge are brought together into one space. As well as being the creative base of designers, Transplant is the home to both a professional innovative materials library Nordic Materials, specialised in sustainability, and a model workshop where to concretely shape ideas. Today, Transplant work spaces and tools are hired by product development and management teams for short term sessions and used long or short term by creative professionals.
